Jonathan and Joy Arhart and Family
Arhart Farms is a family-owned and operated seedstock operation managed by me, Jonathan, alongside my wife, Joy. After completing college, I returned to the farm to work alongside my dad, LaVerne, my uncle, LeRoy, and my brother, Andrew. For many years, we worked together to build a strong foundation, and in 2024, Joy and I took over ownership of the herd. We remain committed to the values and traditions that have guided our operation from the start — raising functional, problem-free cattle that help make ranching easier for our customers.
We believe in balancing time-tested practices with forward-thinking strategies to meet the evolving needs of the cattle industry. By utilizing the American Simmental Association’s Total Herd Enrollment program, we incorporate performance data into our breeding decisions, ensuring that the cattle we raise positively impact not only our operation’s bottom line but also that of our customers. Excellence is our standard, and we work hard to deliver that same quality to the producers we serve.
Together, Joy and I are raising five children — Anna, Wyatt, Josie, Will, and Jesse — who all play an active role in our farming operation. We strive to instill in them a strong work ethic, a deep love for the Lord, and an appreciation for the ranching way of life. Through their involvement in FFA and 4-H, they are learning valuable skills that will continue to strengthen our farm for years to come.
